Humans of Millbury: Mia

I have a six year old black cat named Luna, who has been my ESA (emotional support animal) since she was a kitten. She’s a big part of my day, she wakes me up in the morning to ensure that she gets her food and always greets me when I come home.

My family is a big part of my life, most of my family lives in Connecticut. They are a big support to me in everything that I do. It’s nice that they live not too far away so I can take day trips to spend time with them.

I’m a mental health counselor, I enjoy working with teens and young adults, I enjoy working with people going through transitional changes. I tell all my clients when I first meet them that you don’t need to come to therapy with a specific problem to fix, sometimes it’s good to just have a space to talk and have support. You can come to therapy for any reason at all.

I love to travel. I went to Europe a couple years ago and I would love to go back, try out different foods, go different places. I went to a bell tower in Berlin and we walked almost to the top, but not quite. It was a long journey but we got pretty high up and there was a nice view of everything in the whole city.
I have always loved to read! I try to read at least one book a month if I can. I have been into psychological thrillers recently and am always looking into getting new recommendations. Sometimes I get the Barnes and Noble pick of the month.
